Chief of Staff

Rick Ryan

The Chief of Staff (CoS) is second in command and assists the Sheriff by managing the daily operations of the office and assumes command in the Sheriff's absence. Executive directors from Finance, Department of Law Enforcement, Department of Administrative Services and the Department of Corrections report directly to the CoS. It is the job of the CoS to keep the Sheriff informed of pertinent internal matters and any unusual events within the county. The CoS must understand and possess a similar philosophy of the Sheriff regarding the role of the Sheriff's Office and its mission within the community.
