|Palatka, FL: On Monday, May 20, 2013, Deputy Josue Garriga with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office attempted to conduct a traffic stop in the area of Crill Avenue and Fern Street. The driver refused to stop the vehicle and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit ended when the Mercedes SUV crashed into a vacant house at 2502 St. Johns Avenue. The driver fled the scene on foot and was not located.
A week long investigation conducted by the PCSO revealed the driver of the vehicle to be Daryl Lamar Duffy. As a result of the investigation, a warrant for the arrest of Duffy was issued for Fleeing and Eluding a Law Enforcement Officer, Possession of Cocaine, and Leaving the Scene of a Traffic Crash.
On Thursday, May 30, 2013, at approximately 5:20 p.m., Duffy was spotted in the area of North 16th Street and Washington Street by Officers with the Palatka Police Department. Duffy was arrested by the Officers due to the outstanding warrant.
Duffy is being held in the Putnam County Jail with a bond of $20,012.00.
